MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 28, 2006, MEETING OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL COUNCIL OF VOLUSIA AND FLAGLER COUNTIES

The minutes of the October 24, 2006, meeting were approved, as corrected.

Treasurer’s Report There was a discussion of dues received to date. Betty O’Laughlin noted that more environmental organizations need to get on board with the Environmental Council.

Correspondence A motion made by Brynn Newton and seconded by David Hartgrove passed, to send a letter drafted by Robert Haviland, with Robert Haviland’s and Betty O’Laughlin’s signatures, to the Department of Environmental Protection’s Division of Beaches and Shores regarding Flagler Beach’s shoreline problems and solutions.

December meeting The Environmental Council will not meet in December.

Gopher tortoises 40 tortoises will be moved from Lake Winnemesett. Although the builder had a permit, he will wait until spring to relocate them to a site near Tallahassee. Don White recommended the Web site www.municode.com where one can find regulations templates.

The next Environmental Council meeting will be held on January 23, 2007.
